The Kaplans

The Kaplan family has been actively involved in doing the Lord's will since August 15, 1996. Their sacrificial love for others is evident because they have given abundantly to be one of God's servants among the deaf in this world.

In 1995, Joe had the opportunity to do a two-week mission work with the team of eleven deaf and hearing members. This put a spark in Mr. Kaplan's life to serve Lord's work.

Joe was born in Kansas City, Missouri, and has been deaf since he was birth. He graduated from Shawnee Mission East High School. God opened a door for him and his future. As a student at Sunset International Bible Institute in Lubbock, Texas, he began to work with the deaf ministry. He traveled on several deaf mission trips to different countries including  Mexico City, South America,and Kenya.

He graduated from Sunset International Bible Institute in 1999. After graduation, God led the Kaplans to Abilene, Texas to begin working in Deaf Ministry. Their Deaf Ministry officially began on May 1999. After 4 & 1/2 years in Abilene, TX. In Aug. 2004, We moved to the Mountian Creek Church of Christ in Tennessee.  Joe and his family moved to Greensboro, NC in the fall of 2005  to begin working with Friendly Avenue Church of Christ .   His wife, Coral, sometimes interprets and teaches sign language classes and has taught several deaf ladies Bible classes. They have four beautiful children, Kobe, Brenna, Peyton, and Kali.
